I designed the Handlebar Styling Kit to make my facial hair routine available to everyone. If you are looking for an almost cartoonishly curly handlebar mustache that lasts until you wash it out, then look no further. I think I get asked at least once a week by some guy working on a new mustache how I get mine to curl like this. The answer is its kind of a whole 5 min daily routine and it was easier to put the box together for them than to try to explain it every time.

When I first started trying to style my handlebar I looked around and tried everything I could find online, mostly mustache waxes with a variety of different strengths. What I found is that none of the waxes on the market today really do the job by themselves. A strong wax can hold your mustache for a few hours, but you will spend days trying to scrub it out afterwards, and it loses its shape when I put on say a face mask which is a common problem these days. The medium wax really only held my mustache for a few minutes before it started drooping, and the light mustache wax couldn't hold the shape at all. What I eventually came up with was using hairspray to hold the handlebar in place. This, when combined with wax to style the tips really held the handlebar all day and also completely washed out in the shower. So, my box uses this solution including some medium wax I made from all natural ingredients that can be counted on to hold the tips together while the hairspray holds the rest along with some 3d printed styling devices to help make the shape, and finally a facemask to both demonstrate the resilience of the handlebar and also to help press it all back against the face which is actually helpful for making both sides of the handlebar uniform.
